Excellence in Marriage and Family Therapy Student Awards
Each year, the faculty award two graduate students awards. These students are recognized at the annual Greenspun College of Urban Affairs Award Ceremony. Our winners include:
In previous years, we awarded one student the "Outstanding Marriage and Family Therapy Student" award. This award was given to recognize one student at the top of the class in the field of marriage and family therapy. Previous winners include:
TNT Scholarship
The TNT scholarship was created with an Imperial Proclamation by Emperor II, Terry Freeman, during Coronation III in December 2000. These funds are appropriated by the Imperial Royal Sovereign Court of the Desert Empire Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)3 Nevada corporation consisting of volunteer members raising funds to better the community, and are awarded to students who are personally and actively involved in the support of human and civil rights, who also have an interest in pursuing higher education in any field.
First-year student Debbie Sampson was awarded the $500 TNT scholarship.
GPSA Student Travel Award
The GPSA allocates funds for graduate and professional research. This award supports projects that directly affect a student's degree program.
Student Shelley Sendak was the recipient of one of these awards for travel to present at an international conference and Armeda Stevenson received one to present at a national conference
Change the World
In 2006, department chair Dr. Gerald Weeks was named by The RebelYell as one of the five professors who will "Change the World."
Distinguished Barrick Scholar
Dr. Weeks was also named a Distinguished Barrick Scholar in 2006. This award is based primarily on the quality and quantity of research publication or creative activity that is determined to be extraordinary and distinguished. Dr. Weeks received $5,000 for this award.
Roosevelt Fitzgerald Outstanding Student Award
This award is presented to a total of four students of African heritage (one male and one female undergraduate student, and one male and one female graduate student), each in good standing, on the basis of academic performance, campus leadership, and university participation.
Second-year student Tracye Ditmore was presented the award during the 22nd Annual APAH Awards Banquet on Friday, May 11, 2007.
Greenspun College of Urban Affairs
In 2008 Dr. Katherine Hertlein received the college outstanding teaching award and Dr. Colleen Peterson received the outstanding service award.
